These include; numbness or weakness on one side of the body, having trouble walking, confusion, etc. As you can see, all these are symptoms of a stroke so you shouldn’t take it lightly.

Now, to the main question. Why do abilify cause weight gain?
The first question would be whether or not abilify can cause weight gain in the first place before asking why.
Well, according to a clinical study, 2% of adults talking abilify for bipolar disorder experienced weight gain,
8% of adults taking abilify for schizophrenia gained weight,
26% of children who took abilify for autism gained weight,
20% of children who took abilify for tourettes syndrome experienced weight gain.
Now for the main question. Why do abilify cause weight gain?
For starters, I did say earlier that abilify messes with your body’s metabolism. This also includes your body’s ability to burn fats and calories, as a result, excess fats and calories are retained and burnt up rather slowly, leading to weight gain.
Also, abilify messes with your appetite and could lead you to an eating spree, or binge eating. This of course, in collaboration with your metabolism that’s been earlier tampered with could lead to weight gain.
So, does it lead to weight gain? Yes, but it happens to very few people, like the percentage of persons I listed above.
